reasoning    音标拼音: [r'izənɪŋ]
n. 推论,推理,论证

推论,推理,论证

reasoning
推理

reasoning
adj 1: endowed with the capacity to reason [synonym: {intelligent},
{reasoning(a)}, {thinking(a)}]
n 1: thinking that is coherent and logical [synonym: {reasoning},
{logical thinking}, {abstract thought}]

Reasoning \Rea"son*ing\, n.
1. The act or process of adducing a reason or reasons; manner
of presenting one's reasons.
[1913 Webster]

2. That which is offered in argument; proofs or reasons when
arranged and developed; course of argument.
[1913 Webster]

His reasoning was sufficiently profound. --Macaulay.
[1913 Webster]

Syn: Argumentation; argument.

Usage: {Reasoning}, {Argumentation}. Few words are more
interchanged than these; and yet, technically, there
is a difference between them. Reasoning is the broader
term, including both deduction and induction.
Argumentation denotes simply the former, and descends
from the whole to some included part; while reasoning
embraces also the latter, and ascends from the parts
to a whole. See {Induction}. Reasoning is occupied
with ideas and their relations; argumentation has to
do with the forms of logic. A thesis is set down: you
attack, I defend it; you insist, I reply; you deny, I
prove; you distinguish, I destroy your distinctions;
my replies balance or overturn your objections. Such
is argumentation. It supposes that there are two
sides, and that both agree to the same rules.
Reasoning, on the other hand, is often a natural
process, by which we form, from the general analogy of
nature, or special presumptions in the case,
conclusions which have greater or less degrees of
force, and which may be strengthened or weakened by
subsequent experience.
[1913 Webster]

Reason \Rea"son\ (r[=e]"z'n), v. i. [imp. & p. p. {Reasoned}
(r[=e]"z'nd); p. pr. & vb. n. {Reasoning}.] [Cf. F.
raisonner. See {Reason}, n.]
1. To exercise the rational faculty; to deduce inferences
from premises; to perform the process of deduction or of
induction; to ratiocinate; to reach conclusions by a
systematic comparison of facts.
[1913 Webster]

2. Hence: To carry on a process of deduction or of induction,
in order to convince or to confute; to formulate and set
forth propositions and the inferences from them; to argue.
[1913 Webster]

Stand still, that I may reason with you, before the
Lord, of all the righteous acts of the Lord. --1
Sam. xii. 7.
[1913 Webster]

3. To converse; to compare opinions. --Shak.
[1913 Webster]

  • 12. 3: Solubility Limit and Saturation - Chemistry LibreTexts
Solubility is often expressed as the mass of solute per volume (g L) or mass of solute per mass of solvent (g g), or as the moles of solute per volume (mol L) Even for very soluble substances, however, there is usually a limit to how much solute can dissolve in a given quantity of solvent
  • Solubility - Wikipedia
The extent of the solubility of a substance in a specific solvent is generally measured as the concentration of the solute in a saturated solution, one in which no more solute can be dissolved [1] At this point, the two substances are said to be at the solubility equilibrium
  • 11. 3 Solubility - Chemistry 2e | OpenStax
Imagine adding a small amount of sugar to a glass of water, stirring until all the sugar has dissolved, and then adding a bit more You can repeat this process until the sugar concentration of the solution reaches its natural limit, a limit determined primarily by the relative strengths of the solute-solute, solute-solvent, and solvent-solvent attractive forces discussed in the previous two
  • Solution and Solubility - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
The dependence of solubility on the nature of the solute–solvent combination means that solubility can vary with the nature of the solvent for a given solute For example, sugars and carbohydrates are not readily soluble in alcohols, in particular lactose, which is insoluble in pure methanol
  • 12. 3 Types of Solutions and Solubility – Chemistry Fundamentals
When a solute’s concentration is equal to its solubility, the solution is said to be saturated with that solute If the solute’s concentration is less than its solubility, the solution is said to be unsaturated
  • 14. 2 Solubility – Enhanced Introductory College Chemistry
You can be certain that you have reached this limit because, no matter how long you stir the solution, undissolved salt remains The concentration of salt in the solution at this point is known as its solubility
  • 11. 3 Solubility | Chemistry - Lumen Learning
You can be certain that you have reached this limit because, no matter how long you stir the solution, undissolved salt remains The concentration of salt in the solution at this point is known as its solubility
  • Solubility - Division of Chemical Education, Purdue University
A salt is soluble if it dissolves in water to give a solution with a concentration of at least 0 1 moles per liter at room temperature A salt is insoluble if the concentration of an aqueous solution is less than 0 001 M at room temperature
  • Lesson 8: The Chemistry of Solutions
Once a solution has reached the limit of the solute's and solvent's solubility, the solution is said to be saturated meaning that it can hold no more solute Dissolved particles of the solute are in equilibrium with the undissolved particles
  • Solubility | Secondaire | Alloprof
Also, solubility refers to the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved in a volume of solvent However, concentration refers to the amount of solute dissolved for a total volume of solution
